Human Resources Generalist

We are looking to fill an immediate opening on the East West Vail Valley Hospitality HR (VVHR) team for a bilingual (English & Spanish) Human Resources Generalist. The VVHR teams supports and partners with all of East West's property management and hospitality teams of employees, managers and directors in the Vail/Eagle County Area.

This position provides the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of HR areas as a true generalist, including Employee Onboarding, Recognition Programs, Training, Worker’s Compensation, Event programming, and general employment issues. This role is a great way to establish a solid foundation in your HR knowledge and collaborate on innovative ideas and projects within a highly regarded, local company.

Duties Include:

• Provides HR support to operations teams, including onboarding, recognition programs, processes, initiatives, and surveys.
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of HR paperwork, including I-9 forms, E-Verify, and background checks.
• Responds to inquiries from applicants, employees, and managers regarding employment policies and procedures.
• Maintains employee files, conducts audits, and processes verifications of employment.
• Manages workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and invoice coding while reviewing employee bonus reports and winter incentive tracking.
• Assists job applicants by explaining positions, guiding them through the application process, and prescreening candidates.
• Supports Spanish-speaking applicants and employees, including translating internal communications and assisting with benefits-related communications.

Location: Avon, CO - The Seasons at Avon

Employment Type: Full Time, Year Round

Pay Rate: $24-$31 / hour depending on experience

Schedule: 8 hours, Monday - Friday, typically 9am-5pm but flexibility between 7:30am-5:30pm depending on your preference (Must be available to be at the HR Office when it is open for employees (9am-3pm). Some weekend/evening hours may be necessary for special events.

• 1-3 years related experience and / or training in most or all of the above functions preferred.
• General Human Resources experience in a hospitality or similar industry preferred, but not required. Guest service and office administrative experience strongly preferred.
• Fluency (written and verbal) in English is required; Spanish proficiency is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and apply technical procedures, employment laws and company policies and procedures. Ability to correspond articulately in written and verbal form. Effectively present information and respond to questions from applicants, associates, managers, guests and the general public.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and the ability to learn additional systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
