What are the responsibilities and job description for the FOOD SERVICE WORKER I-ELM (13.75 HR/WK) position at East Whittier City School District?
Under supervision, maintain food service facilities and equipment in a neat, clean, safe and sanitary condition; assist in the setting up, heating, serving and selling of food; and do other related work as required.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Clean serving counters, tables, chairs, food containers and other equipment
- Operate dishwasher and wash trays, plates, utensils and other serving equipment
- Assist in setting up food preparation lines
- Heat, set up, sell and serve food to students and faculty
- Clean and store kitchen equipment
- Assist in such activities as preparing sandwiches, mixing salads, grating cheese, and preparing fruits and vegetables
- May act as cashier, which includes counting cash receipt and maintaining simple records

The East Whittier City School District provides educational opportunities (transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, including special education) for approximately 9,000 children. The District employs approximately 1,075 teachers, administrators and support staff. We have 13 schools which operate on a traditional school year schedule.
