Summary
Responsible for instructing lower school (K4-5th) or middle school/high school (6th-12th) students in various subjects. Creates lesson plans, administers praise and constructive criticism, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program. Expected to demonstrate patience, humility, integrity, and kindness while performing day-to-day duties. Must be devoted to prayerfully work with administration, faculty, students and parents to develop and maintain a nurturing Christian learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
- Create a positive, Christ-centered educational climate for students to learn in.
- Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions.
- Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
- Maintain an online grade book.
- Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
- Create projects designed to enhance lectures.
- Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
- Create lesson plans.
- Apply computer skills to post grades, facilitate virtual learning and communicate with parents and staff.
- Utilize various curriculum resources.
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
- Leverage “Warrior Way” messaging to encourage constructive student behaviors
- Develop professional relationships with other agencies and programs.
- Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met.
- Differentiate instruction to ensure all learning styles are met.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Prepare and distribute required reports.
- Observe and evaluate student's performance.
- Maintain clear, open and professional communication with parents.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
- Participation in continuous learning opportunities.
- Lead and participate in prayer in classrooms and meetings.
- Integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout instruction.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, student record, parents, staff and any other school-related matters.
Spiritual Requirements:
Currently a member in good standing of a church. Unreserved acceptance of EBA's Statement of Faith. A strong, clear Christian testimony. A mature Godly spirit. A person of faith and prayer, with a growing, living personal relationship with the Lord Jesus. Recognize the ministry of the school as an outreach of the church.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from accredited four-year college or university
- Two or more years of classroom teaching experience preferred
- Active involvement in a Christian church community
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from school leaders, students, parents, and the general public
- Knowledge of computer technology required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
