The Eastchester School District is actively and continuously recruiting candidates for district-wide per diem Substitute Cleaner assignments. Responsibilities include building/classroom cleaning, grounds work, light maintenance work, painting and related work.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of building/structure cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment;
• Ability to use building cleaning supplies and equipment;
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions;
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position;
• Willingness to perform manual tasks; thoroughness; dependability; honesty;
• physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position.

Employment Terms

• 12 month, per diem, substitute assignments, beginning immediately
• Hours: Vary, AM and PM, Monday - Saturday
• Salary: $20.00 per hour

• 305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
