What are the responsibilities and job description for the System/Data Analyst (SIS & Applications) position at Eastconn?
This position is an entry-level position focused on supporting data management and application administration tasks. Typical supported platforms include, but are not limited to, PowerSchool, ClassLink, Munis ERP, and School Messenger. This role involves assisting in database administration, data screening and cleaning, generating SQL reports, and supporting enterprise applications. Ideal for candidates with foundational knowledge in data and application administration and a strong willingness to learn.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the direction of the Data Team team leader and the CTO.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases and database driven applications.
Conduct data screening and cleaning to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Write and generate basic SQL reports to support business needs.
Support ETL processes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Help implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive information.
Assist in the administration of Google Enterprise tools and ERP systems.
Participate in the design and optimization of data-entry processes.
Support the development and implementation of process controls to ensure data quality.
Maintain documentation of database configurations, ETL processes, and application settings.
Collaborate with senior team members to manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party solutions.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data and application-related issues.
Assist in the administration and support of Powerschool, ensuring data accuracy and system functionality.
Support state reporting timelines by preparing and validating required data.
Performs related work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and CAPACITIES:
Basic understanding of database concepts, including SQL.
Familiarity with data screening, cleaning, and validation techniques.
Knowledge of ETL processes and tools.
Basic understanding of data security principles and practices.
Basic understanding of Google Enterprise management and ERP systems.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data quality.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certification (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Google Workspace Administrator) is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Such as may have been gained through: graduation from a college of recognized standing with a AS or BS degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; or,
Experience: Such as may have been gained through: considerable employment in a position in a public agency or in private industry in information technology which includes at least 3 years of experience in a technology position(s) providing preparation for this role. Or, 4 years combined education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
Must have valid driver's license, access to a vehicle, and appropriate auto insurance.
