EASTCONN is seeking an exemplary individual for Student and Accounting Information Systems and related product support for itself and its client school districts, supporting generation of student information data for local, state and federal reporting, and supporting deployment of software and change control. Additional responsibilities may include other assignments as directed by supervisor.
The ideal candidate for this position is expected to work independently without direct supervision, should have prior experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) and related applications and with State education reporting, possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, is comfortable training others in formal and informal settings, and possess a high degree of customer service commitment and skill.
Reports to: Director of Technology Solutions/CTO
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Serve as EASTCONN SIS/Accounting System Help Desk staff, to support staff within EASTCONN and in client districts in utilizing district Information Systems.
2. Guide and support personnel in entering, validating and uploading data for purposes of meeting state and federal reporting requirements.
3. Coordinate reports from student data systems, including but not limited to form letters, labels, demographics; attendance, discipline and grading reports; transcripts; rosters and schedules.
4. Carry out and support personnel in performing annual and periodic SIS setup and maintenance activities, including but not limited to: term and calendar setup, scheduling, attendance configuration, data imports, and end of grading term activities.
5. Manage user accounts and security.
6. Assist personnel in monitoring data integrity and in implementing standards and procedures to ensure quality and timeliness; proactively identifies, recommends, and implements process and other operational improvements.
7. Deliver Student Information System training or other related training to personnel on use of student data applications.
8. Prepare written materials, such as user guides, reports, letters and memos, for the purpose of documenting procedures and activities and providing instruction to others.
9. Communicate and coordinate with technical liaisons for other software packages integrated with the SIS or Accounting systems such as communications, LMS, behavioral monitoring, health, library, meal and transportation applications, for purposes of resolving integration and general operational problems.
10. Identify and/or respond to potential data systems customers. Answer questions. Identify service parameters. Prepare service contracts.
11. Read, interpret and apply technical information for purposes of facilitating information system operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Serves as Team Lead
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required Experience and/or Certification:
• Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in information systems, preferably PowerSchool or Munis
• Database and reporting tool experience.
• Advanced experience in MSOffice Suite and G-suite
• Valid CT driver's license, personal vehicle, and proof of insurance.
Desired Experience:
• Preference for 2 years of technical experience using SQL Developer, Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports or other reporting tool.
• Preference for 3 years application support experience.
• Preference for 1 year of training experience in a classroom presentation environment and/or other forum.
• Familiarity with Connecticut state reporting requirements for student-related data.
