What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Services Manager position at Easter Seals Goodwill ND?
The Day Services Manager performs a wide variety of duties to coordinate the programs and services of Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. (ESGWND) as instructed by the Director of Day and Vocational Services and the Regional Program Coordinator for Day Services. This is a full-time, hourly, benefitted position working Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

- Be fully aware and positively promote the mission, vision and values of ESGWND.
- Have a strong knowledge of ESGWND policies and procedures.
- Participate in the planning process of the Person Centered Plans by providing information to the team, either through completing assessments and/or participating in meetings, about what you know to be the dreams and goals, strengths and needs of the people we support.
- Ensure that the strategies to help the supported person achieve their goals and realize their personal outcomes, as set forth by their team, are carried out in both formal and informal settings; and, to assure that Direct Service Providers (ESPs) document the results so they can be used to determine if people are making progress towards their goals.
- Ensure that the supported person can manage their finances, seek out financial assistance, maintain and protect their personal possessions during day services hours.
- Ensure that the supported person looks their best by providing needed assistance to complete grooming, hygiene and clothing tasks.
- Provide both formal and informal direction and support to ESPs so they can assist the supported person in achieving their optimum health. Ensure that ESPs monitor and document health information so complete and accurate information is available for the medical professional when the supported person seeks medical attention.
- Ensure that ESPs are trained to assist the supported person in administering their medications, and ensure that the supported person, their family and/or ESPs are able to schedule, attend, participate and follow recommendations received at medical appointments.
- Ensure that the supported person meets their nutritional needs by encouraging them to eat well-balanced healthy meals and snacks and to follow diets orders established by their doctor and/or family; and to direct ESPs to prepare meals accordingly.
- Provide proper training to ESPs on the proper paperwork and appropriate routes of that paperwork.
- Maintain good relationships with the supported person, their family, businesses, employers, volunteer sites and ESPs.
- Create, monitor and adjust weekly schedules for both the people supported and for ESPs.
- Cover the duties of the Day Program when ESPs are unable to work to assure the people supported continue to receive the care they need.
- Have the ability to safely lift and transfer people that need assistance.
- Conduct reference checks on all ESPs.
- Motivate Team Members and deal effectively with performance issues.
Qualifications/Basic Position Requirements:
- High school diploma and a minimum of one (1) year of work experience working directly with people with developmental disabilities.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Become certified in CPR and First Aid.
- Become certified in Developmental Disabilities according to a prescribed schedule for completion of modules.
- High level of confidentiality.
- Computer skills.
