Job Description:
Do you have a passion for helping others and are you looking to make a difference in the lives of older adults? We may have a spot for you on our Homemakers & Health Services team as a Family Member Care Provider in the Greater Manchester Area. In this role you will follow care plans and assist individuals with life skills working toward self-reliance by assisting with non-medical tasks essential to daily living.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Six (6) months experience working as a caregiver preferred
- Able to work independently to meet the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of adults
- Able to work flexible, varied hours in multiple locations; demonstrate efficient time management techniques.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide protective oversight for assigned individual.
- Provide assistance with core household maintenance tasks including but not limited to; light housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, maintaining a safe home environment, shopping for groceries and other errands, as well as reminders and simple assistance for daily activities.
- Follow care plan designed by the supervisor.
- Encourage consumer toward self-reliance.
- Transport individuals as assigned, or as needed to follow the care plan.
- Accept responsibility for compliance with all policies, procedures and service requirements of Easterseals, including responsibility as a mandated reporter of any consumer abuse and/or neglect.
- Communicate regularly with supervisor, attending supervisory meeting as required.
- Attend team meetings, required department and annual agency trainings.
- Demonstrate ability to receive supervision from multiple supervisors and when appropriate to cooperate with the consumer, primary caregiver and family.
- Understand and respect the confidentiality of the consumer and family and maintain standards of professionalism at all times.
- Follow protocols and procedures for emergencies.
- Accurately maintain required work records (timesheets) and recognizes their significance to ensure quality assurance for the agency.
Hours: Part-Time, 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Compensation: $20.00 an hour
