$16 - $24 per hour depending on experience

Easterseals MA (ESMA) is looking for various levels of Student Service Aides (Paraprofessionals) who enjoy supporting students while they work towards their educational and life goals with desires to work with the disability community! Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (PRHC) in Canton, MA provides medical, rehabilitative, educational, recreational, habilitative, transitional, and complementary alternative medical services to children and young adults ages 7 – 22 with multiple disabilities. PRHC assists them to achieve their optimal level of independence in all aspects of life. ESMA collaborates with PRHC to provide staffing solutions for its programs and services.
General Essential Functions (varies by level):
- Encourage independence and assisting students to reach their educational goals as outline in their individual educational plan
- Assist students with activities of daily living including, but not limited to, personal care, feeding toileting, transferring, and transporting students throughout the campus
- Help students access and utilize their assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and augmentative communication devices
- Support students with social emotional concerns and assists them in developing positive social skills
- Assist in the monitoring of students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments (rest rooms, playgrounds, hallways, area parking lots, special events, etc.)
- Provide support for students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in scheduled activities (including, but not limited to, entering the pool and participating in barn/animal activities with the student)
- Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers, students, teachers, and PRHC staff
- Provide paraprofessional support
- General Availability Monday-Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm or availability as needed
Qualifications for SSAI:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children and/or adults with physical, behavioral, learning, and/or socioemotional disabilities preferred
- 1-3 years of experience as a personal care assistant or school aide preferred
- Submission of required medical documentation prior to any student interaction
Qualifications for SSAII:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in any of the following: PCA or school aide, experience working with children and young adults with physical disabilities, providing personal care to youth and/or adults with disabilities, or work with students who have behavioral, learning, or physical disabilities
- Submission of required medical documentation prior to any student interaction
Qualifications for SSAIII:
- Associate’s degree in Human Services field or equivalent
- 5 years of experience and training in related field working as 1:1 aide, PCA or school aide, experience working with children and young adults with physical disabilities, providing personal care to youth and/or adults with disabilities, or work with students who have behavioral, learning, or physical disabilities
- Submission of required medical documentation prior to any student interaction
