What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSISTANT DIRECTOR position at Easter Seals Serving DCIMDIVA?
Working Schedule: Will normally work Monday through Friday day shift. The schedule may be changed as business needs dictate.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Director will assist and collaborate with the Director to ensure the successful operation of the Falls Church-Child Development Center including business services, funding sources, public relations, staff supervision, parent support, recruitment and intake.
The Assistant Director, under the supervision of the Center Director is responsible for supporting financial management processes and maintaining all contractual and facility management aspects of the Center including contract management and renewal agreements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure the maintenance of student records and staff, including all documentation for Center.
- Assist Director to develop and maintain community, grant and contract relationships.
- Ensure fiscal soundness and program accountability, including the accuracy of accounts receivables.
- Assist the Director to develop, maintain, and manage a balanced budget relative to staffing, enrollment, and
- Maintain all health certificates and medical information
- Continue to assess all processes/procedures and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Assists Director with ongoing marketing and recruitment to ensure Center meets or exceeds budgeted enrollment consensus and staffing requirements.
- Maintain a creative, team building approach to job performance and seek to bring a constructive, problem solving
- Exercise professional judgment and discretion at all times in keeping with job responsibilities and the welfare of
- Works effectively with a diverse population including staff, parents and community partners.
- Assist the Director in maintaining all DC, DHS and NAEYC standards and collaborate with Center Director to implement any
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- BA in Early Childhood Education, Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 3 years experience supervising programs that provide comprehensive coordinated services to young children and their families
- Experience in project management, collaborative business development, strategic marketing, organizational structuring, vision planning and staff coordination
Language Ability:
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Reasoning Ability:
Must be able to work independently and be accountable for his/her actions. Must be able to work with budgets, produce financial reports, maintain and measure outcomes that reflect desired projections. Must be able to make an accurate assessment and respond accordingly to ensure the overall daily effectiveness of Center operations.
Computer Skills:
Must be comfortable with using the computer and have functional knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Ensure staff maintain required certification and documentation to meet state and local licensing requirements for employment
- Assist Center Director as needed with supervision of teaching staff and partner with the
