The MIA Passenger Service Supervisor is based out of the MIA Airport and must be local to this work location. This position will be required to work 40 hours per week supporting daily flights from MIA.

This position has the following responsibilities :

  • Supervises and coordinates daily activities of employees to ensure safe and effective operations.
  • Monitors and enforces safe working habits in accordance with OSHA / TSA / DOT / U SPS regulations, Unifi policies and safety procedures, and all applicable laws.
  • Responsible for shift schedule includes workstation assignments, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
  • Enforces company policies and procedures, including disciplinary action, and promotes Unifi policies on Equal Employment Opportunity, professional conduct, and diversity initiatives and investigates and responds to employee relations issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with manager concerning any problems or issues.
  • Assists in the administration of payroll; completes shift paperwork and performs other administrative functions.
  • Performs job duties of assigned shift (i.e., Assist passengers through arrival and check-in processes, including support for passengers with special needs such as unaccompanied minors, VIP and wheelchair assistance, handle ticketing, boarding, baggage, reservations, and resolving complaints and problems, direct passengers, etc.).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.
  • Any other task required to support the operation as assigned.

Other responsibilities may include :

  • Co-ordinate, monitor and support the Passenger Services team.
  • Assist Passenger Service Agents in their assigned areas to ensure Agents are performing their duties in a professional, safe and efficient manner, according to Company / Carrier’s standards.
  • Ensure a smooth operation through co-ordination between department and agencies to achieve a safe on-time operation.
  • Monitor, evaluate and recommend training needs as required to ensure the quality and competence of employees is maintained. Maintain training records for Agents.
  • Attend to the day-to-day administration, i.e. ordering supplies, improving staff procedures and communications, and investigating problems / delays.
  • Liaison with Carriers’ representatives to ensure their requirements and standards are being met.
  • Assist in maintaining staff morale and have clear and open communication with staff.
  • Cover any manpower shortages and / or assist whenever necessary.
  • Oversee the departure and arrivals of passengers, ensuring they are in compliance with all company policies, laws, and regulations.
  • In addition, candidates must meet the following criteria :

  • Must be 18 years of age and have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic Computer Skills.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing to include drug testing and a physical.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must be able and flexible to work variables shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Position may have to deal with long queues.
  • Position may be based at a desk or moving around the airport.
  • Position will have to wear a uniform.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.
