Eastern Arizona College’s District Offices are located in Thatcher, Arizona, a beautiful rural area with easy access to arid
as well as mountainous recreation. The College is located approximately 125 miles northeast of Tucson and 165 miles
southeast of Phoenix. EAC is a comprehensive community college offering five associate degrees across nearly 50
programs of study. Eastern Arizona College is the oldest member of the Arizona Community College system and is fully
accredited by The Higher Learning Commission.
Position Summary and Organizational Relationship:
The Athletic Trainer position reports to the Director of Athletics and will work with student-athletes to prevent, examine,
treat, and rehabilitate emergent, acute, or chronic injuries and medical conditions. The role will be to liaise with the
students’ medical team and coaches to ensure that a holistic approach is taken towards the students’ care. This is an
important role that requires good organizational skills and the ability to engage well with student athletes.
Required Qualifications:
Required qualifications to effectively perform job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be
considered.
- This position requires a bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, or a related field.
- Must have one to three years of experience in athletic training.
- Licensure as an athletic trainer is required.
- NATA Certification
- Arizona Licensure or qualifications to attain the same.
- Successful experience in the coordination of medical treatment and rehabilitation of student athletes
- Ability to work effectively with physicians, coaches, students, and others to achieve desired results.
- Willing and able to work a non-traditional schedule.
- Detail oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records on all aspects of the area of responsibility.
- Ability to instruct, train and develop appropriate students in athletic training fundamentals.
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
• Master's Degree in Sports Medicine or a closely related field
- Athletic trainer experience at the post-secondary level
- Experience and ability in developing student athletic training programs and curriculum.
- Instructional and/or supervisory experience working with student trainers and assistants.
- A good understanding of and commitment to the community college philosophy and goals
Essential Functions:
• Examine student-athletes with emergent, acute, or chronic injuries and medical conditions, and provide or

- Provide education and training to Student Aids.

Compensation and Position Availability:
The starting salary range for this position is $51,324 to $55,173 annually, based on a 10.5-month contract. This
includes a cash flex benefit. The position also offers a comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated start date is
July 1, 2025.
