Kitchen Worker

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Worker to join our food services team at Caribou Community School. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting our kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals to our students. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all operational protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation.

Experience

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required; we welcome those eager to learn.
• Knowledge of basic food safety practices is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• ServSafe certified or eligible.
• Computer skills preferred.
