Passionate about electricity and whole power systems? We are seeking an experienced NETA certified electrical testing technician, preferably Level III or IV, to join our team. Salary is negotiable within the range provided dependent upon experience/qualifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of electrical knowledge and theory
  • NETA Certified - Level III or IV
  • Strong mathematical aptitude with fluid understanding of algebra and trigonometry
  • Ability to understand, troubleshoot and diagnose issues in complex electrical systems
  • Ability to read, understand and create technical diagrams (CAD)
  • Ability to utilize high voltage testing equipment, meggers, multimeters
  • Ability to work on a wide array of electrical equipment including transformers, motor control centers, circuit breakers, protective relays, switchgear, disconnect switches, grounding systems, UPS systems, chiller systems, etc.
  • Leadership qualities and experience - desire to lead in the future
  • Ability to converse and work with client site engineers and personnel, as well as third party contractors during field service
  • Initiative and organizational skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a successful career with past experience
  • Ability to crawl, climb, stand and lift 70 lbs
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Satisfactory substance/alcohol screening test and background check
  • Possess own set of tools
  • Willing to occasionally work out of town
  • Availability for a varying schedule - occasional emergencies, weekend work, overtime and evening work
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication - ability to draft detailed reports that include a summation of services, equipment identification, details of issues and repair recommendations and test results
  • OSHA 30HR training preferred but not required

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform preventative electrical testing, visual and mechanical inspections and maintenance to low, medium and high voltage electrical equipment from all major manufacturers

  • Equipment worked on by Eastern High Voltage, Inc. technicians and engineers: power cables, transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, disconnect switches, motor control centers, chiller systems, grounding systems, UPS systems, emergency systems, switchboards and switchyards.

Perform infrared scanning utilizing FLIR thermal cameras and software

Perform transformer oil sampling and diagnostics

Troubleshooting, Repair & Emergency Services

Perform new system NETA acceptance testing

Pay: $125,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
