Job Summary and Qualifications
- You will be responsible for the delivery of evidenced-based and family-centered patient care to age birth to 18 years of age in the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- You will perform life-sustaining care for pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit PICU.
- You will evaluate and document each patient's response to interventions and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition.
- You will have demonstrated knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.
- You will work closely with department leadership and physicians to coordinate treatment plans and examinations.
- You will educate parents on day-to-day operations/goals, treatment plans, and at-home care procedures.
- You will be able to perform general nursing duties in a medical/surgical observation unit for pediatric patients.
- You will identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and families; communicate with social service/discharge planner regarding both in-hospital and post-discharge needs.
- You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
What qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse.
- Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree.
- Experience as a RN with passion for working with the pediatric population and their families.
