Candidates will be required to perform sampling, weighing, and stowage examination. This position requires varied hours, occasional weekends and the ability to work a flexible schedule. The right candidate must be willing to work outside and in a dusty environment, climb stairs and have dependable transportation with a valid drivers license and a good record.
Pre-employment federal drug testing and background checks required. There are opportunities within our company for advancement with step raises.
As a Grain Sampler and Weigher with Eastern Iowa Grain Inspection & Weighing Service employee, you will have a unique opportunity to learn and have a direct impact on feeding and fueling the nation. We will work with your schedule and our customer needs to make a great job experience.
Training and certifications provided!
We will train you on all sampling/inspection techniques used in a variety of sampling environments and help you earn your USDA Grain Sampler license.
What it takes to be a Grain Sampler and Weigher:
- High school diploma or equivalency degree, plus positive work history required.
- Ability to read and comprehend verbal and written instructions and industry-specific information, including instructions and information provided by the USDA.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers and other employees of the organization.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and personal motor vehicle liability insurance, if driving a personal vehicle.
Licensed under the United States Grain Standards Act, we are required to meet its tough standards. Customers can be assured of dependable and accurate grades when lots of grains are officially sampled by the official agencies or samples are submitted by the applicant.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.25 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
