Tele RN : Chest Tubes, temp pacemakers (preferred not required), Cardiac drips (Cardizem, amiodarone) – protocols for rate changes, Heparin gtts, Insulin gtts; Reading / Interpreting Rhythm strips; PIV starts, trach care, dressing changes, wound vacs, PCA’s, total joint care, Stroke experience
CNA : 1 year of acute care experience is required and it must be the most recent; ADL’s, Vital signs, Sitting 1 : 1, assist in turning over rooms, emptying tubes / drains, room cleanliness, floating to over units if needed
Schedule Information
Weekend rotation : every other (Dayshift : Sat / Sun; Nightshift : Fri / Sat)
Can approve time off through manager
No call
Holiday Expectations : no RTO accepted for Holidays

Patient Types : Inquire about charge experience and CRN capacity
ED Holding / MedSurg : Could be pre-assigned to this area; float as needed
Resource Role : Unassigned but float through all areas within scope to assist
Merritt 3 (All Surgical patients) : 44 beds
Grant 5 / Grant 6 (Oncology / Medical) : 2 units - 40 beds each
Grant 4 / P6 (Cardiac) : Telemetry Level of Care
Patient Ratios varies based on inpatient units
Support on the Unit : Charge nurse, Phlebotomy, Resource Nurse, House Supervisor, RT, Hospitalist, Cardiovascular Surgeon and team, Intensivist
Charting System / Equipment : Cerner, BD Alaris IV Pumps, Pyxis
Floating : Float pool position that floats between all levels of care appropriate to care type
Orientation : General hospital orientation followed by a tour by the education department to each floor
