Straight Truck Driver
FLSA: Hourly/Non – Exempt
Revision Date: 3/5/2021
Purpose of position: Under general supervision, deliver aluminum extrusions on a 26’ Non-CDL Straight Truck to area customers.
Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:
- Operate a 26’ Straight Truck (Non-CDL)
- Operate vehicle in compliance with all local, state, federal and company rules and in accordance with generally accepted practices of safe driving.
- Safely load and unload cargo as required
- Maintain ELD logbook in accordance with DOT regulations
- Complete vehicle inspection reports
- Review shipping papers for nature of load and special handling requirements as necessary
- Check load on trailer to determine if it is properly secured and safe
- Wear safety equipment when handling material
- Maintain the truck in a clean, safe and positive work environment.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Clean MVR with no more than one major violation within the past 5 years
- Have or be able to get a DOT Medical Card
- Lift and carry heavy material up to 75 lbs.; climb on and off a flat bed
- Be able to read, write and communicate in English effectively.
- Perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Read a tape measure.
- Be able to stand for extensive periods of time.
- Be able to bend over, reach upwards or outwards, twist, turn around and climb up and down.
Compensation includes a competitive Hourly Pay Rate, Overtime and Monthly Safety Bonus.
