Purpose of Position
This position is responsible for interaction with new and existing customers in order to grow accounts. The candidate needs to be highly motivated and must possess a proven record of accomplishment in an outside sales capacity. This position will also act as a direct report for a team of Outside Sales Representatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are typical of those performed by employees in this job title; however, employees may perform other related duties, and not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each employee in the job title:
- New account development, prospecting and product introduction
- Increasing share at existing accounts
- Effectively communicate EMS' distinct proficiencies
- Margin improvement initiatives
- Suggestions for adding new inventory items
- Prepare and present pricing and proposals to customers
- Review computer records including customers volume, usage and competitive feedback
- Effective time and territory management for traveling
- Overnight travel is required
- Training of employees
- Directing, planning and apportioning the work of employees
- Maintaining production or sales records for use in supervision or control
- Appraising employees’ productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status
- Handling employee complaints and grievances
- Determining the (sales) techniques to be used by employees
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
- Report to the Regional Sales Manager
Qualifications
- Four year college degree is preferred
- Prior outside sales experience is preferred
- Supervisory experience is preferred
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize duties; detail oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong math skills are required
- Must be willing to sign our standard non-compete agreement
- Clean driving record free of DWI's or other major convictions such as careless and reckless driving, hit and run, etc. over the past 5 years is necessary
