The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month Athletic Director position that is available at Eastern Montgomery High School for the 2025-2026 school year.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To lead, develop, and oversee a comprehensive high school athletic program that fosters student growth, school spirit, and community engagement while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal development.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in a secondary subject area
• Possess the ability to oversee the overall operation of the school’s Athletic Program
• Have experience as a head coach in high school sports
• Demonstrate ability to organize multiple events
• Communicate, engage, and work effectively with students, parents, and coaches 
• Be available to work evenings and weekends
• Knowledge of VHSL programs, activities, policies, and procedures
• Possess the ability to work with district, regional, and state organizations
• Possess the ability to work with Officials’ Organizations
• Skilled in overseeing the maintenance, care, and upkeep of all athletic fields and facilities
• Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous athletic director experience
• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision, PreK-12

FLSA: Exempt

SALARY:  $60,086.71 - $98,391.87 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (current salary scale may change due to 2025-2026 budget considerations)
