We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. The selected candidate will prepare and process cash and credit card reconciliation functions in a timely manner. The Staff Accountant will oversee and ensure all deposits from Eastern National’s field locations are transferred and accounted for in accordance to EN’s cash management policies, procedures and standards under the direction of the Senior Accountant.
This is a full time, non-exempt position and the selected candidate will work at our Headquarters office in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. Employees will typically work 2-3 days per week in the office and can work remotely the remaining days.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and timely filing of state sales taxes in 33 states. The selected candidate will research and stay up to date with sales tax changes and maintain the sales tax database.
The Staff Accountant will have the ability to travel to all facilities across the organization to perform internal audits to ensure stores are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
The selected candidate will also assist with the monthly closing process and assist in the preparation of schedules and supporting documentation in preparation of the year end audit.
The Staff Accountant will be a key member of the accounting team so we’re looking for someone who is versatile, isn’t shy about offering fresh ideas and perspectives, and thrives on challenge.
Experience, Abilities and Knowledge:
1. Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting role, preferably non-profit.
2. Able to work independently, as well as part of a team, adjust priorities quickly and adapt to frequent changes to workload.
3. Computer proficiency required with an applied understanding of Microsoft Office, Office 365, and the ability to work within spreadsheets and databases with an aptitude to learn accounting software systems and related programs.
4. Knowledge of record retention requirements for accounting records.
5. Professional verbal and written communication skills.
6. Excellent organizational skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.
7. Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence and motivate peers through shared mission and goals.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Associate degree in accounting or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
