Purchasing Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials necessary for production. This role is crucial in maintaining inventory control and optimizing supply chain management to support our business objectives.

Duties

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
• Oversee inventory management processes, including tracking stock levels and conducting regular audits.
• Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to forecast material needs and streamline procurement processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify material requirements for production and fabrication.
• Monitor market trends and industry developments to inform purchasing decisions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all procurement activities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and systems, including SAP.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful supplier management.
• Familiarity with MRP systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions based on market research.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
• A degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
