The Financial Aid Office (FAO) at Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is currently accepting applications for the Financial Aid Counselor/Consortium Coordinator (FACCC). - Financial Aid Counseling
- Provide customer service and respond to student and parent inquiries.
- Advise students on financial aid options from federal, state, institutional, and private sources.
- Assist students in resolving financial aid issues and facilitate aid delivery.
- Counsel students on loan debt, borrowing rights, and annual/aggregate loan limits.
- Consortium Agreement Program Coordination
- Manage financial aid for dually enrolled students.
- Process consortium agreements, verify enrollment, and adjust aid accordingly.
- Maintain compliance with federal financial aid regulations.
- Report enrollment through OFAX and collaborate with partner institutions.
- Post-baccalaureate/Endorsement/Certificate Student Management
- Ensure compliance with financial aid regulations for post-baccalaureate students.
- Monitor registration, adjust budgets, and revise loans as needed.
- Oversee financial aid eligibility for education endorsements and certificate programs.
- C Codes Processing
- Review and resolve FAFSA comment codes weekly to clear financial aid holds.
- Ensure compliance with regulations related to citizenship, veteran status, immigration, and more.
- Rejected FAFSA Resolution
- Identify and resolve errors in rejected FAFSAs to facilitate processing.
- Contact students to guide them through necessary corrections.
- Verification Processing
- Review student verification documentation for federal compliance.
- Analyze tax and family information to determine eligibility for aid.
- Budget Adjustments
- Process student requests for cost-of-attendance adjustments (e.g., study abroad, childcare, transportation).
- Ensure compliance to prevent over-awards.
- Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Monitoring
- Review academic progress for financial aid eligibility.
- Process SAP evaluations, issue warnings, and handle appeals.
- Professional Judgment (PJ) for Special Circumstances
- Evaluate appeals for financial aid adjustments due to unique financial situations.
- Collect supporting documentation and modify FAFSA records as needed.
- Dependency Overrides
- Assess and approve dependency overrides for students with exceptional circumstances.
- Adjust financial aid budgets and update student records accordingly.
- Exit Counseling & Default Prevention
- Notify students about exit counseling and loan repayment options.
- Support default prevention efforts by advising students on repayment and forbearance plans.
- Two years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations; OR
- an equivalent combination of training and experience.

- At least 2 years of administrative support experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Previous experience in financial aid operations, including processing applications, verifying student eligibility, or assisting with financial aid counseling.
