The College of Science, Technology, Mathematics and Health Sciences (STMHS) at Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is seeking a qualified temporary Office Specialist II (OSII). The position supports the Dean, College Operations, Department Chairs, and Faculty of the College.

This temporary position (anticipated duration of six months) provides a wide range of administrative support to the STMHS Dean’s office, consisting of general office support, technical support, business related tasks, and other tasks as defined. This employee serves as a main point of contact for students, staff, and faculty with relation to the specific disciplines that make up the College.
This position is provisional and is expected to have a duration of approximately six months.
Responsibilities

Support for Dean’s Office/Office Management
Provide confidential administrative support for the Dean, and College Operations. Serve as a point of contact for the College and Dean’s office. Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, staff and the public in regard to all College programs, faculty members, meetings, conferences, and information regarding College activities.
Support for Other EOU Colleges as Needed
Provide confidential administrative support for the Dean, and College Operations. Serve as a point of contact for the College and Dean’s office. Respond to inquiries from students, faculty, staff and the public in regard to all College programs, faculty members, meetings, conferences, and information regarding College activities.
Support for Other EOU Colleges as Needed
Provide support as needed to Operations in Colleges of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; College of Business and College of Education.
Event Coordination for the College of STMHS
Provide support to programs for College and/or University Events.
Building Management
Serve as central point of contact regarding building problems for both building occupants and Facilities.
- Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
- Experience using a computer for entry, update, correction and retrieval of information.
- Intermediate skills in Word, Excel.
- Knowledge of photocopier and printer equipment.
- Public contact experience providing or receiving information from the public, preferably in a business or office setting.
- Minimum 60 wpm keyboarding speed. Intermediate skills in Excel (testing will be required).
- Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
- In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Eastern Oregon University will not sponsor applicants for employment visas.
- An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
- Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.
- Familiarity with Banner by Ellucian.
