The mission of the Eastern Panhandle Empowerment Center (EPEC) is to protect victims, prevent violence, and empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and human trafficking. We accomplish this by providing victims and survivors the resources necessary to effectively cope with the personal, social, emotional, and legal ramifications of victimization.

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to provide financial oversight, planning, and management while keeping EPEC’s mission at the core of the work. The Director of Finance is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day financial aspects of the organization including maintenance of fiscal records, administering and managing grants, filing tax reports, monitoring employee benefits, and overseeing the accounts receivable and payable processes. The Director of Operations will coordinate the fiscal management of activities and projects with EPEC’s staff to achieve the goals and objectives of the Agency.

Schedule:
40 hours/week (Monday- Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm with some weekend and evening availability at times)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; experience may substitute for education
- Ability to translate financial concepts to – and effectively collaborate with - programmatic and fundraising colleagues with varying degrees of financial management experience
- Demonstrated success in grants management and project management
- Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; experience using accounting (QuickBooks) and reporting software
- Commitment to training programs that maximize individual and organizational goals including best practices in human resources activities
- Proven ability to establish and manage competing priorities; keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision-making
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- A multitasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of EPEC
Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial Management
- Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
- Clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements
- Collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, as well as coordinate with other staff to send acknowledgments to donors
- Oversee all financial, project/program, and grants accounting
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors; assess any changes necessary
- Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the Executive Director (ED); administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep the Board of Directors abreast of the organization’s financial status
- Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting
- Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to, and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements
- Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the board of directors and the ED
- Create and track financial needs for EPEC (including due dates and timelines)
- Responsible for the fiscal integrity of EPEC, including submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization
- Work with the leadership team in establishing new and creative fundraising opportunities including Capital Campaign functioning
Human Resources, Technology, & Administration
- Further develop and streamline EPEC’s human resources and administration practices, enhancing professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training, and recruiting
- Work closely and transparently with all external partners, including third-party vendors and consultants
- Oversee administrative functions and facilities/property management to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organization scales
- Manage all contracts, develop new contracts when appropriate and monitor all active business registrations
Physical Demands/Working Environment
- Ability to drive/sit for extended durations to deliver services to all service areas
- Access to reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Must have flexibility of schedule during non-traditional working hours which may include evenings/weekends to support Agency activities
- The ability to lift, push, pull, or move presentation equipment, supplies, etc. above 50 pounds with or without the use of adaptive/assistive devices
- Sight, hearing, and manual dexterity to function with or without prosthetics use will enable these senses to function adequately to fulfill the requirements of the job
- The ability to negotiate level and unlevel surfaces with or without the use of assistive devices
