- Responsible for overall appearance and cleanliness of location as well as Store Manager responsibilities in absence of Store Manager.
- Provides guidance and direction to Shift Leader and Sales Associates daily.
- Maximizes store sales by following direction given by Store Manager and assists Store Manager to implement merchandising programs and provides information (feedback) and recaps performance of promotional activities.
- Assists Store Manager to manage controllable costs including but not limited to labor, cash, shrink and expenses. Positively contributes to assist store to meet or exceed budgeted goals in these areas.
- Learns financial objectives set by company and helps Store Manager to meet/exceed annual/monthly budgets. Works with Store Manager and District Manager to analyze variances and helps to initiate corrective action within a timely manner.
- Implements and executes company policies and procedures.
- Helps Store Manager with developing/planning monthly meetings and attends with staff, discussing any store related issues and ideas, improvement of the store, increase store sales, and implement monthly promotions.
- Contributes and participates in quarterly and yearly company and/or manager meetings.
- Maintains a positive attitude and desire for store and company to succeed in all facets of business.
- Assists in the development and training of all associates.
- Assists Store Manager in holding all associates accountable, giving praise or constructive criticism in a positive manner in every situation.
- Ensures compliance with requirements by enforcing adherence to policies and procedures, and governmental regulations; advises store associates of needed actions and reports needed resources and/or compliance/requirement opportunities to the District Manager.
- Implements non-discriminatory related management skills while training, counseling, motivating employees.
- Execute procedures to insure increased profitability for store, helping Store Manager to develop salespeople and management to become invested in their location.
- Implements and executes programs to maintain inventory control installed by Store Manager/District Manager and hold personnel accountable for non-compliance.
- Helps to ensure execution of all security, mystery shop, in-stock, health and safety programs.
- Completes Gas Price Surveys and Gas Price Changes correctly and in required time frames.
- Conducts a store walk upon arrival and directly before leaving to assess and prioritize duties and objectives for associates.
- Counts and records all lottery scratch tickets within location in absence of store manager or directed by store manager.
- Conducts ATM audits in absence of store manager or directed by store manager.
- Counts and records all cigarette product within location in absence of store manager or directed by store manager.
- Assists Store Manager to manage Deli program, maintaining/exceeding gross margin % expectations and hold all involved accountable.
- Completes and successfully transmits a grocery order to our grocery distributor within requested time frames in absence of store manager or directed by store manager.
- Ensures vendors meet expectations by evaluation of performance and developing partnerships.
- Participates in Shrink Investigations, whether at assigned store or requested by District Manager, cooperating and identifying opportunities.
- Ensures implementation of marketing plans and initiatives by communicating with all associates, identifying expectations each month.
- Implements and enforces all policies, regulations and procedures for all age verification products, holding all associates accountable.
- Secures and protects all company assets (inventory, property, cash, lottery, etc.) by adhering to responsibilities, job description, safety regulations, etc.
- Prepares, counts, verifies, records and takes bank deposit to bank in absence of store manager or directed by store manager.
- Helps Store Manager to identify, communicate and resolve any maintenance issues in the required time frame.
- Implement branded partners programs, creating excitement and a culture of success.
- Prepare and maintain schedule for staff posting current week and the following two weeks.
