This position is responsible for overseeing the billing department and ensuring that Eastern delivers the highest level of customer service possible through accurate and timely invoicing and payment processing. The Billing Manager focuses on the day-to-day supervision of employees including performance management, staffing needs, and employee development. This position is also responsible for directing workflow within the department and resolving escalated disruptions within departmental processes.
Essential Functions :
Oversee daily and month end billing processes and payment application to fully reconcile all areas of oversight with special attention to accuracy and timeliness.Maintain working knowledge of Eastern’s billing processes.Manage fiscal year-end processes related to invoicing and service work in process.Maintain a proficient working knowledge of application software modules as it applies to the position and share that knowledge within Eastern, as appropriate.Troubleshoot the root cause of billing issues and escalate issues that cannot be resolved to IT.Monitor current procedures and present recommendations for process improvements that allow for increased accuracy and efficiencies with a focus on exceeding customer expectations.Ensure manuals are prepared, monitored, and enforced for key department processes.Serve as a key point of contact for other departments and districts to support operations, collaborate on key initiatives, and strategize solutions.Supervise direct reports by coordinating tasks and providing guidance to resolve matters resulting in high quality, timely, and accurate work. Leadership functions additionally include the following.Coach staff on a daily basis while maintaining morale, motivation, accountability, discipline, and positive recognition.
