Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and dependable Refrigeration Technician to join our team full-time and contribute to the success of our rapidly growing company. Responsibilities
- Support refrigeration installations and start-ups.
- Test and diagnose with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components.
- Provides service to customers by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient and timely manner that exceeds customers’ expectations.
- Provides general repair work on refrigeration equipment, such as walk-in cooler/freezer units, reach-in coolers and freezers, ice machine equipment, compressors and electric components in a safe and timely manner.
- Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.
- Tests malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills.
- Maintains and submits job history in the client management system, providing detailed notes and submitting accurate information and requests through the portal.
- Provides support by picking up, delivering and installing.
- Perform work on minor construction and remodeling projects including startups of new installations.
- Drives company vehicle in a safe manner.
- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Must have at least 3 years of Commercial Refrigeration Experience. Light industrial refrigeration experience a plus.
- Strong Knowledge of refrigeration systems and components.
- Familiarity with schematics and blueprints for proper installation and repair procedures.
- EPA Certification to purchase and work with refrigerants.
- Own and maintain basic hand tools.
- Experience servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing Commercial
- Refrigeration and related equipment including refrigerant controls (metering devices); compressors; electric motor controls (contactors, starters, relays, disconnects, thermostats, etc.).
- Experience in warranty service and manufacturer startups is preferred but not required.
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA safety procedures, regulations and guidelines.
- Attention to detail and a desire to get the job done right the first time.
- Motivation to work independently and responsibly.
- Able to stand, bend or kneel for long periods of time.
- Lift, push and pull in excess of 75 pounds.
- Able to work on and climb ladders, and work in changing environments.
- Regular service hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM. Emergency service hours are 24/7 and are fulfilled via a rotating on-call schedule. This provides the ability to obtain overtime pay if called out during your rotation.
- Clean driving record and background.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects efficiently.
