Functions

Functions as a Designer I, models and prepares drawings for the construction and repair of marine craft and floating structures such as ships, barges, and tugs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING :

Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

• Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Use computer assisted design / drafting equipment to prepare drawings related to the design of a ship.
• Responsible for drawing multiple views of any section or part of a ship, depicting relationship of components and parts.
• May require drafting drawings / sketches in AutoCAD or from 3D modeling software, such as FORAN, for production.
• May require the preparation of AutoCAD diagrams and schematics for Production.
• Preform QA / QC checks of peer-generated documentation.
• Preparation of change request documentation
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education / Experience :

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required

Citizenship : U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Card required.
