POSITION SUMMARY
Work closely with the Pipefitter Superintendent to provide support in the overall management of the Pipefitting Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, your duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
- Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Comply with Company, federal, state, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations and policies while performing duties.
- Assist Superintendent in resolving issues with regard to day to day operations.
- Assist Superintendent in meeting production
schedule, maintaining resources and training needs within the Dept. - Provide technical assistance and oversee the workforce in the Pipefitting Dept.
- Inspect piping installations for conformance with specifications.
- Assign work on multiple assignments during a workday and monitor performance and productivity.
- Manage employees and plan ahead to have crews work safe.
- Perform quality assurance and sign off tested piping systems and other related items in accordance with applicable plans and specifications.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly and/or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the Pipefitting Dept. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
planning, assigning, and directing work.
