What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Consultant/Psychotherapist position at Eastern Shore Rural Health System?
The Behavioral Health Consultant/ Psychotherapist (BHC) works closely with primary care and oral health providers at Eastern Shore Rural Health System in the clinic to provide care in the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model. This model employs brief (15- to 30-minute) visits, and as appropriate follow-up visits, to address various behavioral and mental health issues that present in primary care and / or dental clinics in a rural environment, most often at the point-of-care when patients present for primary care or dental visits within the clinic. The BHC role is consultative in nature, working with primary care and oral health providers to develop and implement collaborative treatment plans using evidence-based strategies.
