Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Navigator to join our team. We are a small, family owned group practice that is providing mental health therapy and psychiatry in the Eastern Sierra with offices in Ridgecrest, Bishop, and Mammoth Lakes, California. Our group practice was established in the fall of 2023 and we are growing rapidly. We need a dedicated Patient Navigator to work in our Bishop and Mammoth offices. Some days may be remote work. We need someone who is available during business hours to work during the week but some of the work may be completed at other times throughout the week if desired.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about working in the mental health field and providing exceptional patient service. This role involves working closely with patients, medical staff, and insurance providers to ensure quality care delivery. Responsibilities:
- Take patient calls and help patients get set up in our Electronic Health Record and with completing our consent forms
- Work with our Psychiatry team to assist with scheduling patients and reminding patients of appointments
- Process claims on a weekly basis
- Process patient copays
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation
- Assist in resolving patient concerns or complaints in a timely and empathetic manner
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow up on patient appointments
- Provide guidance on insurance coverage, billing inquiries, and financial assistance programs

Experience:
A successful candidate should be fast paced, trustworthy, flexible, responsive, thorough and extremely accurate in all work. Able to take on new tasks quickly with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital or behavioral health environment is preferred but not required
- College degree required or relevant experience can be substituted for a degree
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, and medical records management preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to empathize and build rapport with patients
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus
