What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant General Manager position at Eastern Sports Management?
The Assistant General Manager (AGM), in collaboration with the General Manager, oversees building operations and all staff. The AGM is responsible for establishing and maintaining excellent guest service. The AGM assists with budgeting, establishing financial goals, measuring business trends, maximizing sales/profitability, controlling expenses, and networking within the community to help raise awareness of the property. The Assistant General Manager reports directly to the General Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant General Manager, in conjunction with the General Manager, is responsible for performing the following duties:
- Coordinate with all departmental managers to create a feasible schedule for special events, tournaments, meets, etc.
- Assist with facility budget and monitor departmental financial spending
- Hold Periodic All-Staff Meetings
- Evaluate and supervise staff
- Resolves member/guest grievances
- Submit unsettled complaints to General Manager for further action
- Ensure compliance of employees with established security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures and practices
- Analyze facility needs and resources
- Plan, develop, and implement policies and procedures
- Assist with the annual marketing plan
- Represent the facility as needed at expos, health fairs, community events, and community meetings
- Assist in strategic planning for the facility
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, and lead the operations team to excellence through accountability, regular and recurrent training, mentorship, and high standards.
- Plans and assigns daily goals, tasks and assignments.
- Ensures proper completion through follow-up.
- Maintains adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the General Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees within the facility
- Assist in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these staff members
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Responsibilities include:
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
- Planning, assigning, and directing work
- Appraising performance
- Rewarding and disciplining employees
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems
