What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Trainer position at Eastern Sports Management?
The Personal Trainer’s main responsibility is to develop and deliver safe, comprehensive training and wellness programming to the members of the Fitness Center choosing to participate in this dedicated, additional training and assistance. This part-time position reports directly to the Fitness Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Provide individual personal training, tandem (partner), and small group training to the clients of the fitness center
- Develop a training program including fitness and wellness goals and testing
- Keep records and track progress of each client
- Assist in the sale of personal training and maximize client retention
- Provide 45-minute fitness orientations to new members of the fitness center
- Attend fitness team meetings and individual meetings with the Fitness Director
- Outstanding interpersonal communications and coaching skills
- Knowledgeable and current with fitness and health science and trends
- Strong desire to learn
- Team-oriented
- Personable and professional
- At least 1 year of personal training experience preferred
- Previous experience with fitness program design required
- Strong history in customer service environment
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
- Physical agility and strength
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and walking frequently
- Capable of demonstrating exercises prescribed to clientele
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the Fitness Director and/or the General Manager
