Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing recreational therapy programs tailored to the needs and interests of residents.
- Facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, games, exercise classes, and social events to promote engagement and interaction among residents.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to residents who require additional support during activities.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment during all activities, ensuring that all equipment is properly used and stored.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to monitor residents' progress and adapt activities as necessary.
- Document participation levels and feedback from residents to help improve future programming.
- Support residents in their daily routines by assisting with schedule management related to activities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in recreational therapy, caregiving, or senior care is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
