We are looking for a Medical Assistant to work in our ENT Triage Department. In addition to handling our triage box, the position also includes working as a surgery scheduling assistant, assisting our provider when someone is out of the office, as well as offering assistance on miscellaneous tasks such as diagnostic testing authorizations, and helping keep up with instrument cleaning. If you are a reliable, willing to learn individual we want to meet you.
This position is in our CHESAPEAKE office and requires travel to other offices on occasion.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Experience working in a Triage capacity.
- Minimum of 2 years prior experience working in the medical field with a certification. All other applicants will not be considered.
- This position is primarily out of our Chesapeake office locations; however, travel to our Virginia Beach and Harbour View locations may be occasionally required.
In addition to Triage, other responsibilities include :
1. Assist a physician when the ENT nursing staff is out sick or on vacation.
2. Clinical records coordination, to include gathering imaging studies, labs, consult notes, etc., when needed.
3. Medication Prior Authorizations and refills.
4. Authorizations for diagnostic testing.
5. Instrument cleaning.
6. Working task list daily to ensure issues are resolved each day.
7. Working with our surgery scheduling assistant.
8. Other task as needed.
