Job Summary
We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Graduate Programs Coordinator. The Graduate Programs Office (GPO) is devoted to the mission of Eastern Washington University: to be an engine for social mobility by providing students access to high-quality graduate programs. We are a hard-working support unit driven by collaboration, systemic solutions, and student success.
The ideal candidate for this job derives meaning from supporting students and colleagues, is a good communicator, has foundational computer skills, and a willingness to learn new skills. We will train you on the rest. The Graduate Programs Coordinator is a vital member of the office, who contributes to a positive, team-oriented culture. This role requires managing a high volume of phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries daily, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all. The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism while addressing diverse needs and resolving concerns. The role will perform admissions, operations, and post-admissions processes for the office.

In addition, EWU offers generous vacation and sick leave accruals, 13 paid holidays per year and fringe benefits, such as tuition waiver for employees and their eligible family members, discounted EWU sports tickets, full access to our campus workout facilities at a minimum fee and free transportation through STA buses. Conditions of Employment

Required Qualifications
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Two years of experience providing customer service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, and comfortable learning new software systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills, particularly when answering phones and responding to emails from students, staff, and faculty.
- Written communication and organizational skills.
- Candidate must demonstrate ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility, and/or diversity.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate responses, contributing to a student-centered and solutions-driven office culture.

Processing:
- Conducting operations processes that support other functions in the Graduate Programs Office, using specific knowledge and experience, following provided procedures.
- Exercise independent judgment in interpreting federal and state policies, University policies, and departmental procedures to provide accurate information and assistance.
- Acts as a proxy for office processes and tasks as assigned.
Website and Systems Management:
- Monitor and maintain website information, ensuring it is up-to-date and accurate.
- Proxy for Course Information Management/Program Information Management Systems processing and tracking.
- Updating the Online Accelerated Orientation Canvas page when updates arise.
