Augmentative Communication (AAC) Specialist
Full Time – 35 hours/week

Position Overview
Based out of the Central MA region, the AAC Specialist will demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide itinerant evaluation, consultation, training, and technical support services related to the use of augmentative communication in the community, appropriate to the age and disability of the clients referred, and in the environment in which they are served.

Position Overview

Essential Functions
AAC Services:
- Provide Augmentative Communication services to children and adults in a variety of settings
- Be familiar with current voice output communication aids and their features, as well as non-electronic means of augmentative communication
- Be familiar with current research in the field of augmentative communication
- Provide care to clients in accordance with state, federal, regulatory and third-party payor guidelines
- Perform comprehensive evaluation of client’s needs for augmentative and alternative communication system
- Coordinate, support, maintain multiple augmentative communication device trials happening simultaneously
- Establish a plan of implementation with realistic, objective goals
- Responsible for set up and installation of recommended equipment
- Provide consultation services to clients and contracting agencies regarding augmentative and alternative communication
- Educate client, family and caregivers in evidence-based intervention techniques to promote successful outcomes
- Maintain appropriate documentation based on professional practice, regulatory requirements, Easter Seals policies and procedures, contracting agency requirements and third party payor guidelines
- Utilize SalesForce, TEAMs, and Outlook to communicate with colleagues and outside contracts and track caseloads
- Ability to independently maintain systems of organization (email, shared drives, SalesForce) to organize workflow and maintain productivity
- Achieve established productivity standards based on job assignment
- Effective time management
- Submit paperwork and billing requirements in a timely manner in accordance with agency standards and with strict adherence to deadlines
- Follow Easterseals policies and procedures
- Follow policies and procedures of contracting agency
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid/current professional license as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Massachusetts
- Past experience with providing AAC services and supporting users
- Ability to travel to/between multiple work locations
- Must be able to transport and deliver equipment
- Must pass extensive background checks and provide professional references
- If selected for hire, candidates must be able to provide a recent physical indicating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job either with or without accommodations, proof of negative TB test, and required immunizations
