Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess a minimum Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Social Work. Master’s degree preferred.
- Be an LBSW, LLMSW, or LMSW with the Michigan Board of Examiners of Social Workers
- Have had at least two (2) years of full-time casework experience including 1 year in a leadership role.
- Must meet qualifications of a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP) and/or Mental Health Professional (MHP) per the Michigan PIHP/CMHSP Provider Qualifications per Medicaid Services.
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
- Must possess a knowledge and understanding of co-occurring disorders (mental health & substance abuse
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises general and autism case management.
- Assigns and supervises the caseload of professional staff engaged in treatment and case management services for mentally ill and/or emotionally impaired clients and their families. Assists professional staff as required.
- Reviews cases to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of services rendered. Conducts staff meetings to review problem areas and plan solutions.
- Assists staff in improving and updating professional skills by providing them with information such as pertinent conferences and seminars, new techniques in the field and current and pending legislation affecting mental health services. Orients and trains new staff.
- Monitors case records, including the follow up and referral of clients to community agencies to aid in an accurate history.
- Acts as a liaison with community agencies and mental health service providers, maintaining an awareness of the full range of human services available in the community which may be appropriate for client needs.
- Instructs, assigns, schedules, checks and appraises performance. Hires, recommends disciplinary action and discharge, and recommends pay increases and/or promotions.
- Promotes staff retention through policy expectations related to staff supervision, professional development, formal recognition, and teambuilding.
