What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Clinician - IDD Behavioral Health position at Easterseals MORC?
This is a community-based position that provides individual, family, and group therapy to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs).

The primary purpose of this job is to provide assessment and analysis, treatment, training, monitoring and coordination of treatment plans and services to persons with developmental disabilities. Much of the work is done independently utilizing traditional psychotherapeutic techniques. The position requires considerable knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory standards affecting the placement and treatment of persons with developmental disabilities. In addition, employees are required to provide individual and group counseling and maintain regular consultation with families and other community agencies.

Responsibilities:
- Performs assessment of functional ability regarding behaviors of concern
- Performs assessment of emotional and social needs
- Performs assessment of the physical and social environment where consumers work and reside
- Performs assessment of the relationships individuals have with their parents, staff, house mates, family etc.
- Provide evaluation and facilitate psychological diagnosis
- Provide information related to guardianship status and individual’s ability to make decisions
- Perform case history research
- Participates in the Person Centered Planning activities. Develops support plans (e.g., direct individual or group therapy, skill acquisition plans, staff support plans, preventative strategies, etc.) that facilitate: A feeling of being valued; The establishment of meaningful personal relationships; The ability to make meaningful choices based on life experiences; The acquisition of and the ability to practice new skills
- Provides individual, family, and group therapy
- When medically necessary, provides on-site case consultation and observation
- Provides crisis intervention support as needed
- Prepare, present and serve on the Behavior Treatment Plan Review Committee
- Provide training to individuals, parents, care givers, peers, professionals, related to the support plan
- Evaluates individual progress towards achieving goals as outlined in the support plan
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work from an accredited college or university
- Must possess a current license or limited license within their respective discipline; Eligible licenses include: LLMSW, LMSW, TLLP, LLP, LP, LLPC, LPC
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing group and individual counseling preferred and/or behavioral treatment support to caregivers.
- The ability to commute to locations within Oakland, Macomb and Wayne Counties based on assigned caseload..
