The Director of Occupational Health & Wellness is responsible for the design and implementation of an Agency-wide occupational health and wellness program. This is a great opportunity to have a positive impact on the health and safety of our staff. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is passionate about health and safety to lead our team of Occupational Health professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for the activities below:
Coordinate the Agency’s Infection Control Programs and agency medical team when indicated.
Conduct ergonomic assessments/screening for various Agency sites and work with Agency professional staff as necessary.
Work with Wellness Coordinator to support the Agency Wellness program: including programs such as weight loss, smoking cessation, blood pressure and cholesterol screening, stress management and administering flu shots.
Ensure Agency policies/procedures are current and in compliance with mandated programs relative to OSHA, Workers Compensation and State Boards of Health.
Assist with the accident investigation program to identify root cause analysis of all incidents and near misses.
Assist departments with identifying, evaluating, implementing accommodations and return to work options for workers with restricted duty.
Provide and assist with the case management of work related injuries and illnesses.
Oversee the processing, management and coordination of Agency leaves of absence.
Work collaboratively with SVP of Facilities in identifying and managing risks related to Agency facilities.
Identify primary, secondary and tertiary prevention and health promotion strategies to optimize health of the population.
Provide on-call services when necessary and requested.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with current state licensure, Nurse Practitioner (NP) preferred
Occupational Health certification preferred
Five to seven years’ claims management experience
Three to five years’ experience in an occupational health role preferred
Strong communication, verbal and written skills
Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and electronic calendaring
Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Hours: Full time Monday – Friday and rotating on call coverage
Compensation: Beginning at $100,000 / year, depending on experience and qualifications
