Job Summary
Provides general and administrative support for center-based therapy across specialties, maintains the therapy records, schedules clients, answers the phone, and welcomes visitors and clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Welcomes Easterseals clients and visitors, provides direction, requests sign in, and assistance as needed or is required by policy.
- Answers and directs incoming calls to correct individual, department, or voicemail. * Completes client demographic in EHR system.
- Assist with health insurance verifications and authorizations.
- Schedules client appointments and maintains communication to confirm future appointments. * Manages client’s arrival, collects co-pay and notifies clinician.
- Process Referrals.
- Maintain client files, Assisting in the Intake Process for all Clinic Specialties.
- Checks records for accuracy and completeness at designated time frames, assists in record completion.
- Maintains discharge client records in accordance with policies.
- Maintains Medical Records and requests.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
- Preserves the integrity and confidentiality of protected health information of Easterseals clients.
- Understands, acknowledges, and implements Easterseals privacy policies involving the disclosure of protected health information of Easterseals clients.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to self-development. * Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment.
- Acts in accordance with the Easterseals behavioral expectations, mission, vision and values. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma required.
- Prior Medical Office Experience Preferred
- Prior Medical Records Experience Preferred
- Computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and medical billing.
- Able to work collaboratively with other professionals and disciplines.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Knowledgeable about health insurance, policies, procedures, and industry trends.
- Experience with medical billing and medical billing software; ability to learn and use Easterseals medical billing software.
- Ability to deal effectively with a multi-disciplinary staff, volunteers and visitors.
- Ability to organize time, set priorities, demonstrate initiative, and collaborate and cooperate with others
- Skills necessary to manage a busy, multi-task environment and work load.
- Able to handle confidential matters in a mature and responsible manner.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
- Positive attitude towards individuals with disabilities and the Easterseals work environment and philosophy.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
- Able to lift and carry items or children weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
- Able to see and hear clearly, close up, and within a ten-foot area in order to provide a safe environment.
- Able to express or exchange ideas, indicate client progress, and home care needs by spoken format and in written communication.
USE OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
- Able to use all office equipment (i.e. computer, printer, copier, fax machine,) common to the administrative support function.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Willingness to work additional hours, including special events, semi-annual all staff meetings, and increase activity on an as needed basis.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
