What You’ll Do
As a START Service Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting families accepted into the START program by conducting timely assessments for substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment needs, making treatment recommendations using ASAM criteria, and helping parents navigate care systems. You’ll work closely with child welfare workers, family mentors, and treatment providers to ensure comprehensive, trauma-informed care while prioritizing child safety. Your responsibilities will include coordinating services with Medicaid and external partners, engaging parents through motivational support and advocacy, monitoring provider capacity, maintaining accurate tracking for up to 24 families, attending team meetings to share progress and challenges, and building strong relationships with community partners through ongoing collaboration and training

What We’re Looking For
To join our team as a START Service Coordinator, you must have a strong clinical foundation, a passion for working with families affected by substance use disorders, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team. You should be skilled in assessment, treatment planning, and care coordination, with a trauma-informed and family-centered approach. We also require:
- Master’s degree with licensure and two years of experience or QP status with a bachelor’s in human services and CADC (Master’s Preferred)
- Clinical training and experience in substance use disorder core functions, including assessment and treatment options
- Knowledge of co-occurring mental health disorders and related screening and treatment
- Familiarity with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Placement Criteria and levels of care
- Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing and working with individuals in various stages of change
