About being a Building Value Construction Training Instructor at Easterseals Redwood:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. Reasonable accommodations will be made for disabled persons, covered by the Americans With Disabilities Act, in accordance with its requirements.
- Teaches mentors, prepares and provides individualized instruction and testing for students that are preparing to take NCCER, AHLEI – or other required certifications.
- Prepares and provides individualized instruction in study skills, construction mathematics, measurements, estimations, and technical application of skills.
- Provides individualized instruction/tutoring for specific requirements such as examinations for bobcat, forklift, OSHA-10, driver’s license exams, etc.
- Completes assessments in order to evaluate students and predict their potential skill level and probability of success. Prepares and documents detailed reports in Salesforce platform.
- Documents student performance and prepares and submits detailed consumer progress reports.
- Maintains documentation to meet ESTS requirements, keeping accurate records by completing and maintaining required documentation including: student attendance, case notes, monthly reports, intake forms, activity logs, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of consumer files and other sensitive subject matter.
- Maintains high level of communication with referring agents, informing them of absences, progress or lack of, any problems or issues the consumer has that is interfering with their success in the academic program, and successes.
- Communicates regularly with supervisors and others that may have input into program outcomes.
- Keeps training area, classroom, office, and common areas neat and organized.
- Attends and participates in developing and reviewing case records and plans including goals.
- Attends trainings and meetings as assigned by supervisor, vice-president or agency.
- Provides supervision to students on worksites when necessary to further project based learning and on-the-job work experience.
- Helps to develop connections with construction industry professionals to facilitate pipeline to registered apprenticeship opportunities and/or entry level employment in high demand industries for students in construction training programs.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other duties as assigned by manager, director, vice-presidents and/or president.
- On-site coaching once students begin their on-the-job training component.
What Easterseals Redwood needs from our Building Value Construction Training Manager:
- Knowledge of how to use: Power tools, hand tools, bobcat, forklift, motor vehicle; computer; telephone, fax machine, copier and other general office equipment
- Successfully completes NCCER, OSHA 10, Bobcat and Forklift certification and other certifications determined necessary by manager, director, or members of the Senior Leadership Team (all certifications can be provided by Easterseals). Previous certification and/or experience preferred.
- An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Examples of an acceptable qualification include: a Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field with 1 to 3 years’ experience in education; or significant construction industry experience with related supervisory or teaching experience.
- Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
- Ability to meet background check requirements and supply required documentation as outlined by ESTS policies.
