Position Summary:

The Corporate Relations Officer is a frontline fundraising position responsible for developing strategic corporate partnerships which support Easterseals Redwood’s impact in our community.

In partnership with the Director of Advancement and the VP, Advancement and Marketing, the Corporate Relations Officer will direct and implement a comprehensive corporate partnership program with the goal of engaging corporate partners to support Easterseals Redwood through event sponsorships, targeted program or special project investments, and volunteering. Easterseals Redwood is a complex organization with growing philanthropic needs and opportunities. To reach our ambitious goals, our team is not the typical human services advancement team; we are a team of eleven professionals within advancement and marketing with a comprehensive onboarding process and clear expectations that allow for success in reaching goals.

This role has a goal of securing more than $500K in corporate support annually through sponsorships and corporate gifts and developing strong relationships with corporate investors. The successful candidate will be an exceptional project manager who can build authentic and rewarding relationships and grow corporate giving opportunities over time.

Essential and Primary Responsibilities:
  • Grow and manage a portfolio of corporate donors to develop strong fundraising partnerships for long-term support, in collaboration with Advancement & Marketing leaders. Generate revenue through pipeline management, including identification, research, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Work with advancement team to develop comprehensive engagement plans for corporate partners.
  • Expand Easterseals Redwood corporate support by making in-person visits, conducting presentations at external engagement events, and speaking to stakeholders to develop relationships and secure support.
  • Track all necessary donor data, including corporate contacts, opportunities, actions, and other details in donor database.
  • Develop sponsorship and corporate partnership proposals with an action plan to gain philanthropic support. Ensure all necessary paperwork for accounting and operational fulfillment is completed.
  • Work closely with Communications & Brand Manager and Events Coordinator to execute sponsorship plans for special events that meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Represent the organization at community and networking events.
  • Partner with leadership team members and volunteers to gain support for corporate fundraising efforts.
  • Use innovative techniques to engage supporters and increase investments.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, trustworthiness, flexibility, compassion, and humor to address the practicalities of a growing nonprofit, along with the creativity and persistence required to elicit new thinking and change.
  • Attend meetings as required by supervisor or agency.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive subject matter.
  • While most work will be completed during the traditional workday, some evening and weekend meetings or events will be required.

  • Acceptable Criminal Background check and Child Abuse & Neglect Registry check.
  • Required to attend initial orientation and periodic training provided by Easterseals Redwood.
  • Essential functions require visual/hearing acuity. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree and/or certification in nonprofit fundraising highly desirable.
  • Minimum two years corporate relations, fundraising, or related experience with a proven track record of relationship building, constituent cultivation, and solicitation.
  • Experience managing multiple demands simultaneously by organizing, prioritizing competing deadlines to achieve appropriate results, and completing work accurately and timely.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality results in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.
  • Experience with donor databases, preferably Raiser’s Edge.
  • Travel to meetings and events, as necessary. Must have reliable transportation and ability to attend meetings and events at various locations around Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky.

Working Conditions:

Inside a typical office environment is heated, and air conditioned with temperature 68 to 80 degrees F. Ambient noise, low, not requiring hearing protection. No other personal safety equipment required. Staff members maintain commitment to quality, safety, and a healthy, clean, and orderly environment in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, licensing, certification, accreditation, and business standards.
