About being a Picking Specialist at Easterseals Redwood (Gilbert Avenue Location):
With a customer-first attitude, the Picker, in collaboration with the Inventory and Picking Supervisor and Production Manager, supports the work of the employees on the Production floor, and has a strong sense of how the Production operation supports the Production department mission. The Picker supports customer satisfaction through tracking inventory, setting up jobs appropriately, ensuring inventory, and supporting other production employees.
- Checks production orders and ensures all required components are in stock
- Monitors inventory and works with Inventory Control Specialist to ensure adequate supplies
- Pulls components from inventory based upon component number/lot/expiration date
- Prints labels and bar codes, for jobs as required by production order
- Utilizes proprietary customer software to review orders, print needed documentation, and other tasks required by customer
- Provides support for production staff so they can effectively perform their assigned job duties, including training on tasks as needed
- Assists Inventory and Picking Supervisor in monitoring work area for cleanliness and safety
- Works assigned schedule exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Easterseals Redwood needs from our Picking Specialist:
- An appropriate combination of education, training, and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Understand basic math and are good at counting and adding numbers
- Willingness and ability for flexibility in work schedule and job tasks
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, individuals, employees, associates, supervisors, partners, and customers
- Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail, prioritize multiple tasks effectively, adapt quickly to changing environments, and exercise patience when teaching and coaching others
- Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
- Ability to meet background check requirements and supply required documentation as outlined by EASTER SEALS REDWOOD policies.

- Employee occasionally lifts varying weights up to 50 pounds when moving boxes, equipment, or supplies.
