JOB SUMMARY: Consultant provides PLAY Project services to clients served by Easterseals. Services are typically provided in the home or through Telehealth services but may also include schools, daycares, and/or community settings (i.e. park).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manages scheduling of PLAY Project services with the family.
- Completes initial and final assessment reports within 2 weeks of the first and last session.
- Performs required documentation each visit of a visit suggestion report and provides it to the family on the day of service.
- Performs required documentation of an encounter form for billing and submits promptly.
- Completes a video review form report which includes video recorded feedback each visit and provided to the family within 2 weeks of each visit.
- Feedback on client survey (s) indicates 95% satisfaction with PLAY Project services.
- Responsible for planning and implementation of PLAY Project services and demonstrating acceptable quality of clinical skills.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to self-development through participation in at least one of the following: personal development planning, in-service presentation, and/or continuing education/seminar attendance.
- Maintains PLAY Project certification.
- Preserves the integrity and confidentiality of protected health information of Easterseals’ clients.
- Understands, acknowledges, and implements Easterseals’ privacy policies involving the disclosure of protected health information of Easterseals’ clients.
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Associates with adequate experience or Bachelors (Masters preferred). Three years of previous experience in working with young children with autism spectrum disorder. PLAY consultant certification upon hire.
License/Certification:
May include Speech/Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Early Intervention providers, Early Education Teachers, Social Workers, Counselors, psychologists, and Physicians.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Positive attitude towards individuals with disabilities and the Easterseals work environment and philosophy.
- Possess a valid Florida driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance or access to transportation for travel.
