JOB TITLE: Art Teacher
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-Time (40 hours a week) Monday – Friday 7:30-4:00
WORK LOCATION: Paducah, KY
POSITION SUMMARY
Easterseals West Kentucky, Inc. is searching for a full-time Art Teacher. The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing in each client an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual, terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with guidelines. This person will also discover and develop talents of clients in the art field. Applicants must possess the ability to teach individuals with disabilities in various art mediums.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Art Teacher will perform all or some of the following:
- Sourcing art supplies
- Preparing lessons
- Providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques
- Supervise groups of clients while easily and clearly explaining art assignments
- Prepare and arrange art materials and art equipment in the classroom for students to use
- Ability to create new fundraising events for the program
- Flexibility required throughout the year for events
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND KEY COMPETENICES:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Previous experience required
- Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects and goals
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Must be a citizen of the United States and possess a valid driver’s license
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
