Early Childhood Educator (Full Time or PRN)

JOB TITLE: Early Childhood Educator

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-Time (40 hours a week) Monday – Friday or PRN

WORK LOCATION: Paducah, KY

POSITION SUMMARY

Easterseals West Kentucky, Inc. is searching for a full-time or PRN early childhood educator for our Child Development Center. The early childhood educator will be responsible for providing a supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The early childhood educator will perform all or some of the following:

· Plans and prepares classroom setting

· Supervises children in the classroom

· Oversees safety and educational programs

· Provides parent education and engages families in the program as required.

· Encouraging social interaction between children and improving their self esteem

· Engaging in creative methods of learning

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND KEY COMPETENICES:

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent

· CDA or willingness to obtain one

· Previous experience required

· Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of projects and goals

· Highly organized and detail oriented

· Must be a citizen of the United States and possess a valid driver’s license

· Able to pass a pre-employment background check
