We have openings for camp nurses and would love to have you join us. Come help individuals with disabilities stay healthy while they foster independence, gain new skills and build long lasting friendships in a camp setting. Upcoming camps for 2025 include Feb 14-16, Mar 14-16, April 11-13 and May 16-18, and all held outside of Bloomsburg in Millville, PA. A weekend stipend of $600 is provided along with food and housing for the weekend. 

JOB SUMMARY-Camp Nurse

The Camp Nurse is responsible for providing medical care for campers (with and without disabilities) attending the Easterseals camps.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES-Camp Nurse

• Provide 24 hour on-call care for the entire time that camp is in process.
• Maintain medical records for all campers.
• Dispense and record all prescription and non-prescription dosages.
• Participate in daily camp operations.
• Comply with all policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EQUIPMENT USED/MACHINERY REQUIRED TO OPERATE

Includes, but is not limited to:

• First Aid and medical supplies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 40 pounds (Note: two-person lift is required for weights greater than 25 pounds or mechanical devices are available for assistance) as needed.
• Required to walk, bend, squat, reach and move about the majority of the time; may involve sitting for brief periods of time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• RN or LPN required.
• Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
• Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• CPR/First Aid Certifications required.
• Current valid PA drivers license and acceptable driving record obtained through the PA Department of Transportation required.
• Acceptable Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History and FBI Clearance required.
• Passing of physical examination and TB required.
